Author Guidelines

1) Pre-submission Preparation (Checklist)

  • The manuscript has not been previously published nor is it under review by another journal.

  • The main file is in .docx (Word) format.

  • All content (text, tables, figures) appears in its correct position within the manuscript.

  • Text is 1.5 line spacing, in a legible font (11–12 pt), italics instead of underlining.

  • ORCID identifiers are included for all authors.

  • 4–6 clear and precise keywords are provided.

  • Funding sources are declared in Acknowledgments/Funding if applicable.

  • References follow APA 7th edition style, including DOI when available.

  • Turnitin similarity index must be ≤ 15%.

  • Declarations of conflicts of interest, ethics approval, AI use, and data availability are included.

2) Types of Contributions and Word Count

  • Research article: 5,000–8,000 words, up to 5 tables or figures.

  • Reviews and systematic reviews: 6,000–9,000 words, up to 5 tables or figures.

  • Short article (Brief communication): 1,500–3,000 words, up to 3 tables or figures.

  • Editorial: 1,000–1,500 words, up to 1 table or figure.

3) Manuscript Structure

  • Title, Authors and Affiliations (full name, institution, country, ORCID).

  • Corresponding author (email address).

  • Abstract (150–250 words) and Keywords (4–6).

  • Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions.

  • Acknowledgments / Funding.

  • Author contributions (CRediT taxonomy).

  • Data and materials availability statement.

  • Conflict of interest declaration.

  • AI use declaration (Methods section).

  • References (APA 7th edition).

4) Style and Formatting

  • Language: Spanish or English.

  • Units: SI.

  • Abbreviations defined at first use.

5) Tables, Figures, and Images

  • Tables and figures numbered sequentially (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.).

  • Each element must include a title and source.

  • Images: PNG/JPG/TIFF, ≥ 300 dpi.

  • Vector graphics: ≥ 600 dpi.

6) In-text Citations and References (APA, 7th edition)

  • In-text citations: (Surname, Year).

  • References may include up to 20 authors.

  • DOI must be included in URL format.

  • Example:
    Pérez, L., & Soto, M. (2023). Learning analytics in hybrid classrooms. Journal of Educational Technology, 12(3), 145–162. https://doi.org/10.1234/jet.2023.00123

7) Mandatory Declarations

  • Authorship and contributions (CRediT).

  • Conflicts of interest.

  • Sources of funding.

  • Ethics approval and informed consent (if applicable).

  • Data availability statement.

  • AI use (if applicable).

8) Anti-Plagiarism and Originality

  • Use of Turnitin is mandatory.

  • Similarity index must be ≤ 15%.

  • Unjustified similarities will result in rejection.

  • Type of review: double-blind peer review.

  • The journal does not charge submission or publication fees.

  • All processing costs are covered by the publisher.
