However, despite efforts made by various institutions responsible for overseeing and auditing public administration, significant deficiencies still exist, affecting the effectiveness of the control system. These weaknesses stem from the lack of independence in some institutions, limited resources, inadequate operational capacity, and systemic corruption that continues to undermine government entities. This paper examines these issues and argues for the urgent need to implement structural reforms aimed at strengthening these institutions. The proposed reforms include improving institutional autonomy, increasing transparency in the selection and decision-making processes, and fostering greater citizen participation in monitoring and auditing efforts. By carrying out these reforms, trust in public institutions can be restored, ultimately promoting a more efficient, transparent, and corruption-free public administration in Peru.
