The study was framed within basic research with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and correlational scope. The sample consisted of 75 civil servants and officials, who were given a structured questionnaire with 20 items. The findings showed a correlation coefficient of r = 0.916 and a significance level of p = 0.000, confirming the existence of a statistically significant relationship between the variables analyzed. Consequently, it is suggested that internal control be rigorously strengthened in order to ensure its positive effects within the study unit.
